The State Of Artificial Water Fluoridation In Canada

As of July 18, 2012.

A sample of Canadian cities that do not currently have fluoridation, some probably never contested:

  1. – Caledon (ON)
  2. – Cambridge (ON)
  3. – Cochrane (AB)
  4. – Essex County (ON, outside Windsor)
  5. – Guelph (ON)
  6. – Kitchener (ON)
  7. – Leamington (ON), has never had it
  8. – Orillia (ON), has never had it
  9. – Regina (SK), has never had it
  10. – Saguenay (QC)
  11. – Shawinigan (QC)
  12. – St. Catharines (ON), has never had it
  13. – Timmins (ON)
  14. – Vancouver (BC), has never had it
  15. – Victoria (BC), has never had it
  16. – Westbank (BC)

There are currently 87 known Canadian communities as of March 11, 2014, that have discontinued or refused to implement fluoridation since 1990; extracted from Communities which have Rejected Fluoridation Since 1990, at the Fluoride Action Network (FAN, fluoridealert.org); Canadians Opposed to Fluoridation (cof-cof.ca) also maintains such a list: our list updated regularly on our web site, http://ffo-olf.org/end.html, as the struggle rages on.

Why they’ve Quit? Many reasons that can be resumed as follows:
1. Not safe.
2. Not effective.
3. Immoral.
4. Unethical.
5. Contaminates tap water.
6. Causes harm to health.
6. Pollutes the environment.
7. A highly hazardous, industrial toxic waste.
8. Mass medication without medical supervision.
9. Unproved claim of benefit on children’s teeth.
10. No toxicology studies or clinical trials as required for use as a water additive.
11. Uses municipal water supply as a waste disposal method.
12. Legal liability for damage to teeth, health and environment.
13. Taxation issues: waste of tax dollars.
14. Unapproved, untested and unregulated as a drug.
15. No one has ever given their consent to being medicated for tooth decay.
16. Councillors are effectively practicing medicine without a licence.

As of April 1, 2012, only about 3% of Quebec and 3% of B.C. are now fluoridated. Ontario is trending downward at less than 70%.

Kingston, Ontario – decided not to implement fluoridation in 2009 after CFB Kingston indicated to the city to discontinue fluoridation of the base. http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1047167&archive=true. Article saved to HDD.

“Laval ne fluore plus depuis 2000, car cela endommage les installations pour l’assainissement des eaux.” Translation: “The City of Laval does not fluoridate since 2000 because it damages the water treatment facilities.”

A sample of Canadian cities that have rejected fluoridation and never had it before, as of July 18, 2012:

  1. – Dryden (ON), implementatiom last rejected April 14, 2008
  2. – Embrun (ON), after 1990
  3. – Gatineau (QC) May 4, 2010
  4. – Kingsville/Leamington
  5. – Longueuil (QC), after 1990
  6. – Medicine Hat (AB), after 1990
  7. – Montreal (QC), 1965
  8. – Orillia (ON), Jul 16, 2012
  9. – Regina has never fluoridated its water supply
  10. – Sainte-Marie (QC), after 1990
  11. – Thunder Bay (ON), after 1990

The City of Montreal has never been fluoridated thanks to Mayor Jean Drapeau’s intervention in 1964.

Kingsville/Leamington have never been fluoridated because the Heinz Company would not allow the water they use for processing their baby food to be contaminated with Hydrofluorosilicic Acid or Sodium Fluoride. Heinz actually recommends that you do not use tap water for their baby formula. Now isn’t that amazing!

– Prince Edward Island is 23.7% fluoridated.

A plebiscite on fluoridation was held in Charlottetown in 1967. Fluoridation began in that city in 1968 as well as the Canadian Forces Base in Summerside but ended there in 2008 (by order of the military). Currently, P.E.I. is focusing on preventive dental programs for children and adolescents through schools, which include topical fluoride application for the partial prevention of tooth decay. The hydrofluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6 – HFSA, or HFS) solution used for artificial “drinking water” (tap water) fluoridation most often contains, but is not limited to, the following contaminants: fluorine (F), hydrogen fluoride (HF), lead (Pb), arsenic (As), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), phosphorus (P), iron (Fe), iodine (I), silver (Ag), plus uranium238 (U238), barium (Ba), radon (Rn), cobalt (Co), radium (Ra), polonium (Po) and other radionuclides.
List: fluorine, hydrogen fluoride, lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium, chromium, phosphorus, iron, iodine, silver, plus uranium238, barium, radon, cobalt, radium, polonium and possibly others because it is derived from the mining processes used toFor a description of how this HFSA is collected, go to http://ffo-olf.org/ffo-olf.html#w1.

12 Responses to The State Of Artificial Water Fluoridation In Canada

  1. You are right to be concerned about the quality of the water that you drink. It is the basis of all life as we know it, and, the most pure that it can be, the better it is for your body. The less your body has to process the water to purify it for use, the better it is for you. Adding a banned US EPA contaminant such as Hydrofluorosilicic acid (aka HFSA or HFS, chemical formula H2SiF6) is a very stupid thing to do, in spite of false claims that it helps prevent tooth decay. The science on how it destroys our body’s natural tooth structure is in. It makes teeth more brittle and subject to easier chipping and breaking, making dentistry a more profitable business. You don’t need to know much science to realize that this stuff is extremely harmful to for your body.

Fluoride ions destroys the cells in your body. As long as your body can repair the damage as fast as it is caused, you’ll be just fine, however, with all of the other ingested toxins entering your body that need to be eliminated, it becomes more and more difficult for you to remain healthy.

To make matters worse, the fluoride chemical used in fluoridation is not a pure form of HFSA but the tailings from mining of the super-phosphate fertilizer industry removed from the wet scrubbers in their chimneys. It contains Lead, Mercury, Arsenic and many other harmful elements, some of which may be radioactive: think of the worst case scenario – polonium – just one atom of that one will kill you. Check out Polonium for yourself. I guarantee you that it’s a killer, much worse that the Fluorine element. Check out the MSDS of Hydrofluorosilicic acid, or, Fluosilicic acid, another of the many synonyms used for HFSA. You will be stunned that his stuff is used in fluoridation.

That being said, no filters can ever remove enough Fluoride ions, the real culprits damaging your health and mine. The best that they can do is about 92% of the source water, and that’s from the best filters currently available. That’s not enough for those who are as sensitive as people like me. It’s a game changer that leads to all kinds of illnesses.

However, distilled water is 100% free of Fluoride ions (as anions) because Fluorine evaporates sooner than water when properly distilled. In commercial distillation, the transfer, storage and distribution of distilled water may sometimes be problematic for your health, depending on how the distillate is produced and depending on your health status, but, the effect can not be as bad as the Fluorine element remaining in the water in it’s ionic form as Fluoride ions. One needs to choose the least of all evils in this case. Probably the best water distiller one can get is to build your own small scale “solar powered water distiller.” There are many plans now available on the internet. Search for the terms quoted in that last sentence to get all the choices out there.

    All the best, Richard

  2. I’m not really into science and I really do not understand how fluoridation can affect us. One thing that is definite I don’t want to become a victim of water contamination. That’s why I have bought water filters for my home. I wanna be safe from harmful chemicals and bacteria that could harm us.

Passing through Ottawa we were surprised and delighted to find that our motel, located in Gatineau, serves up fluoride free water from it taps. Nice. They should advertise that fact.

    • Thank you Canby.

Maybe you could write the Mayor of Gatineau with that suggestion.

Surprisingly, the Mayor of Ottawa appears to be a great friend of Gatineau’s Mayor, but fluoridation is never discussed, in spite of the immense difference in the amount of poison being added to Ottawa’s water by fluoridation.

That being said, maybe you could write to Mayor Watson, Ottawa, and point out this dichotomy?

    • If you think this is scary, it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

please read the research that has been hidden and buried by industrial interests at http://fluoridealert.org/studytracker/.

Unless you have closed your mind to thinking for yourself or choose to follow the dictates of officialdom, like a sheep to slaughter, you will get quite an education.

If the best you can do is call me and people like me crazy, then you have a serious problem in digging up the truth about what’s being done to you and your loved ones by interested parties whose only concern is their bottom line…
